When Alley Peed first joined HOLT CAT as a college intern, she had no idea how much that one opportunity would shape her future. Now a full-time Regional Safety and Environmental Representative at HOLT Group, Alley looks back on her internship as the starting point of a rewarding and meaningful career.

Originally drawn to HOLT CAT because of its strong reputation, culture, and values, Alley saw the internship as more than a résumé builder. “I knew HOLT CAT had a great culture and strong values,” she recalls. “It wasn’t just about checking a box for school credit—it was about being part of something that mattered.”

From the very beginning, Alley was welcomed by her team and given the chance to contribute in ways that made a real impact. Whether it was sitting in on strategy meetings, supporting key projects, or learning from experienced mentors, she was trusted and encouraged every step of the way. “I never felt like ‘just an intern,’” Alley says. “My ideas were valued, and people took time to guide me.”

One of the most meaningful aspects of her internship was the exposure to HOLT CAT’s business operations and the opportunity to connect with teams across the organization. It was through this experience that Alley realized she could see herself continuing her career within the HOLT Group family of companies.

That opportunity came sooner than she expected. When a full-time position became available at HOLT Group, Alley made the transition from intern to employee with confidence. “Moving into a full-time role at HOLT Group felt like a natural step,” she says. “I already understood the culture and had built strong relationships, so I felt ready to contribute in a bigger way.”

Now a key part of the HOLT Group safety team, Alley continues to grow professionally and personally, taking on new responsibilities and learning from the company’s legacy of leadership and service. Her story is a powerful example of how an internship within the HOLT Group organization can open doors to long-term career success. “If you’re considering an internship with HOLT CAT or HOLT Group, do it,” Alley advises. “You’ll gain real experience, build lasting connections, and maybe even find your future—just like I did.”

As we celebrate National Internship Awareness Month, Alley Peed’s journey reminds us of the value of investing in the next generation of professionals. At HOLT Group, we’re proud to help interns grow into leaders and build careers rooted in purpose, passion, and possibility.
